Cigarette smoking can be a bad habit that leads to other health problems. Like Jan, a doctor’s wife who grew fat because she’d binge on food each time she tried to stop the habit. She used to be very pretty but became fat and unattractive to her husband Woody at a matronly age of 35. Dr. Woody Tigre was a smoker himself whose teeth got yellowed from the smoking of cigarettes although he was able to maintain his ideal form by playing golf.

Jan used to help Woody at the clinic which was about fifteen minutes from their house by commute or by car. Jan felt lazy because she became ungainly and a sleepyhead because of the added weight. She gave the excuse that she had to take care of the two daughters who needed help with the homework when they got home on the school bus. They hired a part time assistant for Woody, a fresh graduate, who looked sweet and wholesome. Her name was Kate and she took over most of Jan’s functions at the office.
Woody spent a lot of time alone with Kate for eight hours a day inside the clinic. When there were no patients, they would be left entirely to themselves for hours in the quiet office which was closed off because of the air-conditioning. Kate was so shapely and charming. Meanwhile, Jan who kept on smoking grew bigger and fatter because of the smoking habit. She’d show up to do the accounting books twice a week. On the second month, she noticed that Kate had an ashtray on her desk full of cigarette butts and Jan also began to notice that Kate’s smooth long hair began to smell of smoke.
