My father, Atty. Raul D. Leveriza, was a bar topnotcher from the State University (U.P. )a couple of years behind Marcos. He got fired from The Philippine National Bank (PNB) for refusing to sign an order allowing bank funds to be unlawfully diverted to Marcos' Light Rail Transit (LRT) project. Up to the present time the case is pending final resolution by the Supreme Court (SC) against Imelda Marcos.
He packed his entire family off to the United States soon after. He said, " son, suffering for what is right is the mettle of brave men. I will bring you to a land where freedom shines bright because the skeletons of brave men rest under the landscape from North to South."
